What’s the difference?
When your pores get clogged under the skin’s surface with oil and dead skin cells, a whitehead (a whitish or skin-colored bump) appears. A blackhead is also a pore clogged with oil and dead skin cells, but it has an opening to the surface that turns dark when exposed to air.
An effective way to fight blackheads and whiteheads, and to remove excess oil, is with acne treatments that clear pores and remove dead skin cells. Remember to stick with your treatment. Because acne takes weeks to emerge, it can take a period of time to start seeing results.
